First: make it safe
Until we arrive, the safest garage door is one nobody touches. Don't run the opener repeatedly — against a jammed or broken door it strips gears and bends the top panel. Don't pull the red release cord while the door is stuck open — on a door with a broken spring, that can drop the full weight. And nobody walks under a door that's crooked or off its track.
If the door is stuck open overnight and we're en route, move valuables out of sight and lock the interior door to the house. We'll take it from there.
What we do on an emergency call
Two jobs, in order. Job one: make it safe — the door secured, the opening closed or the car freed, nothing left under tension that shouldn't be. Job two: fix the cause — and because the truck carries the common springs, cables, rollers and opener parts, the fix usually happens in the same visit rather than becoming a second appointment.
When something genuinely needs a part we don't stock — an obscure panel, a special-order opener — we'll secure the door properly, tell you exactly what's needed, and come back with it. You're never left with an opening that won't close.

Does emergency service cost extra?

My door is stuck open and I have to leave — what do I do?
Call us first so you know our timing. Meanwhile: lock the interior door to the house, move visible valuables, and don't force the door or pull the release cord — a stuck-open door can be under tension you can't see.
Can you free my car without fixing the door tonight?
Almost always, yes — freeing the car safely is job one and is usually quick. If the full repair needs parts or daylight, we secure the door so the house is safe and finish the job on a schedule that works for you.
The door came off its track — can I push it back on?
Please don't. Off-track doors are the ones that fall — the cables and springs are still loaded and fighting you. Keep people and pets away from it and call; re-seating a door safely is routine work for us.
