What usually breaks, and what it actually costs

Most garage door calls come down to a handful of parts: a snapped torsion spring, frayed cables, worn rollers, a bent track or an opener that has given up. The door is the heaviest moving thing in the house, so when one part goes the rest takes the strain.

We diagnose before we quote. You get the price for the fix, the price for the alternative if there is one, and an honest answer about which is the better spend on your door.

A door that still opens can still be a problem

If the door shudders, drifts back down, or sounds like it is fighting you, the balance is off. An unbalanced door puts every pound it should be carrying through the opener instead, and openers are far more expensive than the spring or cable that caused it.

That is why a repair visit starts with the door disconnected from the opener and lifted by hand. A balanced door should hold itself roughly halfway. If yours does not, we tell you what is pulling it out.

Common questions

Garage Door Repair: what people ask

Something else? Call or text (208) 703-5251.

Can you fix it the same day?
Usually yes. The common failures are spring, cable, roller and opener faults, and the parts for those are on the van. Call or text and you will get an honest arrival window rather than a guess.
My door still works but it is loud. Is that worth a call?
Often yes, and it is the cheap end of the work. Noise is usually dry rollers, loose hardware or a door going out of balance, and all three get worse and more expensive if they are left.
Repair or replace?
Depends on the door, not the sales pitch. Panels, springs, cables and openers are all replaceable on an otherwise sound door. If the sections are rusted through or badly bent we will say so rather than keep patching it.
Do you work on every brand?
We carry parts for the common residential brands and hardware. Tell us what you have when you call and we will confirm before anyone drives out.
